The Day I Realized Road Rage Wasn’t About Driving at All

When I first asked my coach, “Do you think we could heal my road rage?”I was half-joking.

It felt like one of those quirks everyone just lives with. Something to laugh about after a stressful commute. I mean, who doesn’t yell at bad drivers sometimes?

I also didn't expect her to say YES. We dealt with trauma, healing my inner child and somatic work... but all of this DID tie into my road rage.

And the more I looked into it… I realized this wasn’t just a funny habit. It was leaking into every corner of my life.

The Quiet Ways Rage Was Spilling Over

It wasn’t just about honking or yelling. It was the way my chest stayed tight long after a drive. The way I’d retell “idiot driver” stories like they were proof of how unfair the world was. The way my kids would go silent in the back seat. The way my partner would shift uncomfortably when I snapped at the wheel.

I had no idea how much that invisible tension was shaping my days and relationships. How it drained energy I didn’t even know I was losing.

Why Road Rage Is a Symptom, Not the Whole Story

The more inner work I did, the clearer it became:road rage isn’t just about traffic.

It’s about:

  • old nervous system wiring that flips to fight-or-flight in seconds,

  • childhood memories and patterns of control or criticism,

  • and a quiet belief that the world should run on my schedule.

And here’s the wild part:once I started working on this, I began to see the same patterns in other places—with my kids, my partner, even in how I treated myself when things didn’t go perfectly.

The Birth of Road Rage Academy

That’s why I created Road Rage Academy:a 7-day, $22 course to help you unpack and heal your own driving triggers.

Inside, we cover:

  • Inner child and shadow work to find where this began.

  • Subconscious patterns and somatic tools to calm your body in real time.

  • Polyvagal theory to understand your nervous system.

  • Radical acceptance so you stop arguing with reality.

  • Deep work around self-concept, self-worth, and self-love.

These are the same practices I used to change my own pattern—and they don’t just change your driving. They start to shift everything.

Why This Work Matters

You might start this journey thinking it’s just about not yelling on the road. But soon you’ll see it’s about so much more:

  • Feeling safe in your own body.

  • Not passing stress and anxiety to your kids.

  • Creating a calmer home.

  • Reclaiming energy for things that matter.

This is often the gateway into bigger inner work.Once you start noticing how your nervous system drives one reaction, you’ll naturally want to address other areas—spiraling upward into more peace and presence everywhere.

It’s seven days of real, practical tools—and it’s yours for life if you need to go slower.
